L’Atelier
Artisan bread, the star product
L’Atelier is an artisan bakery in Pamplona that prepares delicious artisan bread. Its aim is to turn bread into a product that is not just an accompaniment, but a protagonist. For the brand design, in addition to the traditional elements, we designed a custom typography called Drunken Master inspired by various letterpress alphabets that are combined arbitrarily to achieve an unexpected texture.
Drunken Master, where classic and contemporary collide
Although Drunken Master is inspired by classical models, it is constructed as a variable font, a typeface that in a single file can accumulate a large number of styles, widths and weights. Grotesque characters can be extremely condensed or wide and heavy. Moreover, Drunken Master brings out its full potential on the L’Atelier website, where every time the user refreshes the page he has a different version of the typeface.
The aim of the communication with Drunken Master is to highlight the most intimate properties of the brand: the value of the handmade and the artisan; the beauty of the imperfect, because artisan products are beautiful with their irregularities, and the value of the unexpected.
